BARI – “It was an honor for me and for Italy to preside over the G7”. Prime Minister Giorgia Melon says this in the final press conference of the G7 in Borgo Egnazia. “A very regular and dense program in the presence of numerous delegations, with extensive outreach, which took place without problems”, he adds. “Without fear of denial it was a success”, says Meloni again.
“IMPORTANT COMPACTNESS ON THE FINAL DECLARATION”
Demonstrating the happy ending of the summit: “The final declaration is a broad and significant document on the global challenges we are called to take on. It is important to reiterate our unity, I thank all my colleagues, their teams and their Sherpas for the positive contribution”, continues the prime minister in the final press report of the G7. “It’s not the West against the rest of the world”: Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni underlined regarding the G7, because, according to the prime minister, “another story” was told at the summit /p>
“SUPPORT FOR KIEV IS THE CONDITION FOR A PEACEFUL SOLUTION”
Among the first points made, Meloni cites support for Kiev: “Confirming our support for Ukraine for as long as necessary is the ‘conditio sine qua non’ for any peace solution”: said the Prime Minister, regarding the conflict in Eastern Europe. The Prime Minister then confirmed his participation in the “Global Peace Summit” starting today in Lucerne, Switzerland, on the initiative of PresidentVolodymyr Zelensky strong>.
In this regard, he clarified that European nations “do not intervene” in the 50 billion dollar loan to Ukraine also because Europe is already contributing by identifying a guarantee mechanism: Giorgia Meloni said this, regarding the freezing of Russian assets. The prime minister stressed that the loan will be financed in particular by the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Japan.
“ON THE MIDDLE EAST, THE G7 IS FULL OF TUNE AND SUPPORT FOR THE US PROPOSAL“
“In the final declaration we find full agreement on the conflict in the Middle East” with “support for the precious US proposal” on which there was a discussion “with Biden and other leaders also today morning. It was reiterated commitment to avoid an escalation in the conflict”. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni says this in the final press conference of the G7 in Borgo Egnazia.
“FALCONE-BORSELLINO INSPIRE FIGHT AGAINST MIGRANT TRAFFICKERS“
“At the Italian impetus, for the first time in the history of the G7, migratory flows were discussed with the common commitment to address the root causes of migration” and guarantee “the first of the rights which is not having to emigrate”. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni says this in the final press conference of the G7 in Borgo Egnazia. “We have also made commitments in the fight against human traffickers” against whom “it is necessary to build coordination at a global level” and unite “efforts against a plague that fuels illegal flows which are in fact a new form of slavery”, he continues Melons.
To succeed in counteractions, “an entirely Italian model” is used which is inspired by what was done by “Falcone and Borsellino who, for a plague like the mafia, asked to follow the money, ‘follow the money’. If we strike at the heart of criminal organizations we can make a difference”, concludes the Prime Minister.
“THERE IS NO ABORTION? ISSUE ACQUIRED WITH THE HIROSHIMA DECLARATION, ARTIFACT CONTROVERSY”
In the final declaration of the G7 “there is no word abortion because usually things taken for granted are not repeated verbatim. In the Hiroshima declaration” the topic was addressed “clearly”. The Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, says this in the final conference of the G7, prompted by questions from reporters.
And again, “the controversy” over the word abortion in the final declaration of the G7 was “constructed in a totally artificial manner”. The discussion on this “in fact did not exist at the summit and in our discussions. I understand the reasons why the controversies arise, but it was not an issue in our area”.
And again “As I have already said, I do not intend to modify law 194 but to apply it in all its parts, it is a very balanced and well-made law”, he added on the topic.
“”NO STEP BACK ON LGBT RIGHTS”
On LGBT rights “no steps were taken” in the final G7 declaration. More generally “in two years of government, no steps backwards have been taken on abortion, LGBT rights and the singing company”. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni says so in the final conference of the G7, underlining the “disappointed expectations” of observers who denounce the opposite.
“CHAMBER BATTLE? SERIOUS MAJORITY EXPONENTS FALL IN PROVOCATIONS”
The Prime Minister finally returns to the recent brawl in Parliament, during the debate on Autonomy: “I find it serious that majority representatives fall for provocations, and I predict that they will increase. Italians must ask themselves what the love of political representatives who provoke is , trying to occupy the government benches while Italy leads the G7. If we start from respect for the nation there is also respect for the institutions”. Despite this “it was not possible to ruin the summit”.
