Fratelli d’Italia militant beaten bloody in a motorway service station: the closing rally of the electoral campaign in Piazza del Popolo is a coincidence

Punches in the face of a 23-year-old from the student movement outside a service station. The party's complaint: "Unheard of violence"

ROME – The closing rally of the Fratelli d’Italia electoral campaign in Piazza del Popolo in Rome is tinged with yellow. A young militant, member of the party’s youth movement, would have been the victim of a violent attack. The event would have occurred on the motorway, during the return journey from the capital to Bologna, outside of the Montepulciano Est motorway service station. It is the regional coordinator Domenico Nobile who reconstructs what happened to Dire: “We are still travelling, returning from the demonstration of our President Giorgia Meloni. We had stopped for a brief stop. Many of us were in the bathroom when suddenly a ruckus broke out outside. I rushed out and saw one of our militants, F.P, aged 23, lying on the ground a boy had attacked him and was punching him, hitting him ferociously in the head, aiming with all my strength to take him away, I started screaming. The attacker’s friends had to intervene and take him away by force, even tearing his shirt. It was a group of 5-6 people. I believe that the raid was triggered by F.P.’s t-shirt, a t-shirt that highlights his belonging to the Fratelli d’Italia Bologna youth movement”.

The group leader of Fratelli d’Italia in the regional council of Emilia-Romagna, Marzia Evangelisti, confirms what happened on social media. “Only the providential intervention of our coordinator saved him from the punches – he wrote in a post on Facebook -. We return to Bologna evidently shaken. We thank the Arezzo traffic police for their prompt intervention”. The Polstrada would have identified and stopped the alleged attackers. “F.P. has a swollen cheekbone and a hematoma on his head – Nobile commented -. We can’t wait to get to Bologna and go to the emergency room”.
