Francesco Ventola of FdI is under investigation and is a candidate for the European elections

The existence of the investigation, by the Trani Prosecutor's Office, was made known by Andrea Silvestri, former regional councilor of the CCD of Raffaele Fitto's council in the early 2000s

ROME – The group leader of FdI in the Puglia regional council,Francesco Ventola, candidate for the European elections on the ticket with Giorgia Meloni, is under investigation by the Trani prosecutor’s office for criminal association and electoral corruption. The affair was made known yesterday by Andrea Silvestri, former regional councilor of the CCD of Raffaele Fitto’s council in the early 2000s and president of the civic list ‘I love Canosa’, a member of +Europa: he called an ad hoc press conference (held in the Municipality of Canosa) and shown to journalists and cameras the judicial measure for the extension of the investigations. The video of the press conference, initially uploaded to Facebook, was later removed.

The news was reported in some newspapers. In addition to the regional councilor, eight other people are under investigation.
