Former Blutec of Termini Imerese, the excluded group appeals to the TAR

The infinite history of the Palermo plant

PALERMO – The story of the former Blutec factory in Termini Imerese seems like an endless story. An appeal for the annulment of the assignment of the area, which had been awarded to the Pelligra Italia group, was presented to the Lazio Regional Administrative Court. The appeal bears the signature of the consortium formed by Sciara Holding Ltd and Smart City group Scrl.

UNIONS IN ALARM

The unions are alarmed. “It is necessary for the national and regional government to immediately convene a discussion with the trade union organizations”, say Luisella Lionti, general secretary of Uil Sicily, and Enzo Comella, coordinator of Uilm Sicily. Antonio Nobile, general secretary of Fim Cisl Palerno Trapani, says he is “concerned” because “any delay to the plan could seriously endanger the economic sustainability of workers” and because “the second year of the extraordinary administration and therefore of the Cigs expires on 4 November “. The appeal, according to Fiom and CGIL, “risks producing objective damage to the territory and to workers”.

PELLIGRA: “WE ARE CONFIDENT”

The regional government, through the councilor for Productive Activities Edy Tamajo, recalls that Sciara Holding Ltd and Smart City group Scrl have “lost the contract” and awaits to know the decisions of the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy. Pelligra, meanwhile, displays calm. “We have confidence in a decision and we reserve all actions to defend our investment – we read in a note from the group -. We are certain that this action cannot slow down the rapid restart of the Sicilian industrial center and the attraction of international investments” .
