ROME – A 71-year-old writer named “Juraj C” is believed to be the suspected attacker of the prime minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, who was shot in the afternoon firearm while he was in Handlova, less than two hundred kilometers from the capital Bratislava.
The Slovak newspaper ‘Markiza‘ reports this, claiming that the man arrested by the police in relation to the attack is also originally from Levice, a town about an hour away to the south by car from Handlova, and that the weapon allegedly used against the prime minister would be regularly registered. Considering what was leaked by the media to be valid, some have already carried out research on the life of the alleged attacker: the man , who would have published some collections of poetry, in 2016 would have worked in a private security agency.
The newspaper aktuality.sk instead reports that according to some witnesses, the attacker first approached Fico to shake his hand, and then opened fire. Three bullets reached him , including one in the abdomen and two in the arm. The prime minister was immediately transported to hospital and his life is said to be in danger. Euronews reports that the prime minister was conscious when he arrived at hospital.
