Feltri attacks Tajani, Forza Italia: “Senile confusion” and the director replies: “I’m not stupid like them”

ROME – The rift between Vittorio Feltri and Forza Italia is unlikely to be mended. A harsh back and forth triggered by the director of Il Giornale, who in yesterday’s editorial harshly criticized the party line and above all that taken by Antonio Tajani in Europe, deemed too close to that of the left. “Antonio dear, why did you accept the mess?“, thus Feltri ‘touches it very softly’, urging the Foreign Minister not to disappoint Silvio Berlusconi, the man thanks to whom “he reached the top of Parliament of Strasbourg accommodated in the EPP cotton wool styled for him”.

Statements not appreciated by Forza Italia exponents. Leading the deputy prime minister’s defensive front was Maurizio Gasparri, for whom the director “out of superficiality or distraction wrote things that ignore reality. And Tajani has placed himself forcefully within the EPP and in all the contexts in which he enjoys great prestige (having been European Commissioner, Vice President of the European Commission, Vice President and then President of the Parliament European Union, still Vice President of the EPP), the theme of respect for Italy, for which we ask for the Vice President of the Commission and a delegation of great weight for Raffaele Fitto who, moreover, is part of the Meroni government and of the party led by Giorgia Meloni” said the president of the senators of Forza Italia, also specifying that he and Tajani are “also journalists, in case we will write a more informed and more lucid article than that of the highly esteemed Vittorio Feltri. That he got an article wrong. He always has time to apologize for all the rubbish he forced an important newspaper to publish.”
