Favero remains in prison, Giada’s phone cannot be found, waiting for toxicological tests

Andrea Favero, the 39-year-old suspected of killing his partner Giada Zanola by throwing her from the overpass onto the motorway in Vigonza, remains in prison

BOLOGNA – Andrea Favero, the 39-year-old man suspected of killing his partner, Giada Zanola, who fell from an overpass on the motorway in the evening between Monday and Tuesday in Vigonza, in the province of Padua, remains in prison. The judge did not validate the arrest (not considering the risk of flight requirement to be well founded) but ordered the man to be placed in precautionary custody in prison. The circumstantial framework, according to the investigators, is strong. The investigators have seized Favero’s phone and will look for messages and other evidence to reconstruct the last hours and the communications between the man and his partner. Including the messages that Favero sent to Giada the morning after her death, which according to the investigators was staged to make people believe he was uninvolved in the crime: “Did you go to work? You didn’t even say goodbye to us”.

Meanwhile, some of the woman’s friends who were interviewed by the investigators would have said that Giada was being blackmailed by Favero, who would have threatened her to spread embarrassing photos or videos related to their sexual relationship. In the detention order it is written that further investigations will be carried out on this aspect.

Yesterday the autopsy was carried out on the woman’s body: the aspect that experts want to understand iswhether Giada was poisoned or drugged by the man before the terrible 15 meter flight from the overpass . Once she fell on the pavement of the motorway, her body was torn apart by passing vehicles. But the investigators want to understand if the man killed her before. Among the statements examined by the investigators there are also the words of some of the woman’s friends, to whom she had confided her suspicion that Favero was poisoning her.
