FLORENCE – New rules for farmhouse swimming pools and more generally for private facilities for collective use in Tuscany. A law approved recently by the Regional Council allows owners to empty them every three years, eliminating the obligation to do so every year. The measure that seeks to reconcile the principle of environmental sustainability and water saving with cutting-edge technical measures, which nowadays allow the walls of swimming pools to be cleaned without completely empty the tanks. The legislative innovation is welcomed by the president of Confagricoltura Toscana, Marco Neri, who today comments: “It is another step by our farmhouses towards sustainable tourism – he declares – clearly the water of the pools will remain clean, they will have to be checked 15 days before opening to the public. For Tuscan farmhouses, the guest experience, closely linked to nature, is a priority water waste and resulting costs, whilst maintaining the hygiene standards dictated by law”. Neri thanks, in particular, the commitment of the vice president of the Region, Stefania Saccardi, who promoted the bill and the trade associations for carrying forward this project.
