Everything about Rome Pride: the route, closed roads and diverted buses
The appointment is for 3pm on June 15th in Piazza della Repubblica
ROME – “Tomorrow we proudly celebrate the thirtieth birthday of Pride. In 1994, ten thousand people marched in the streets of Rome for the first time. Thirty years later, during the last edition, we exceeded one million people“, declares Mario Colamarino, president of the Mario Mieli Club and spokesperson for Roma Pride. Now everything is ready: the Capital still celebrates rights and freedoms.
FORTY THE CHARIOTS THAT WILL PARADE
The appointment is at 3pm in Piazza della Repubblica from where 40 floats will parade. The parade will be opened by the Coordinamento Roma Pride float, with godmother Annalisa, followed, among others, by the Famiglie Arcobaleno train, the Disability Pride float, the Disney float, the W Rome float, the Cosmopolitan float, the Lpg Led float, the Pulsee float, the float float of W Rome, Cosmopolitan, Lpg Led, Pulsee, P& ;G, Veralab, Olimpo, Peroni, Ben & Jerry’s, of Sephora, which will host the singer Big Mama and the ultra-technological one of Muccassassina, a historic self-financing evening of the Mario Mieli Homosexual Culture Club.

And it will be the float of the Circolo Mario Mieli, the LGBTQIA+ association that has organized Pride since the first edition in 1994, that will stand out among all with the claim “MAI ZITT3 – Non will you ever silence us.”
It is the response to Atreju’s violent campaign which ridiculed intellectuals, journalists and TV hosts not liked by the current government majority. An unusual float which, for the first time in 30 years of Pride, is not dedicated to a strictly LGBTQIA+ claim but rallies around the allies who over the years have kept interest in the claims and rights denied by the institutions, thus allowing the demands of the LGBTQIA+ movement not to be silenced. The silhouettes of Formigli, Littizzetto, Fazio, Bortone, Scurati, Gruber, Saviano and Ranucci will stand out on the float.
THE PATH
The great Rome Pride parade will wind through the streets of Rome with the following route: Piazza della Repubblica – viale Luigi Einaudi – piazza dei Cinquecento – via Cavour – Piazza dell’Esquilino – via Liberiana – piazza Santa Maria Maggiore – via Merulana – via Labicana – Colosseum square – via Celio Vibenna – via di San Gregorio – Porta Capena square – via delle Terme di Caracalla.
ROADS CLOSED AND BUSES DIVERTED
No parking is foreseen, as well as at the starting and finishing points of the event, also on via Enrico De Nicola (from via Solferino to via Einaudi), via Liberiana and via delle Terme di Diocleziano. Parking bans also on Via Cavour, in the stretch between Via Giolitti and Piazza dell’Esquilino.

This is the programme: at 1pm the closing of Piazza della Repubblica, in front of the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, and Viale Luigi Einaudi begins. At 1.30 pm arrival of the floats in Viale Luigi Einaudi and concentration of participants in Piazza della Repubblica.
The participants will arrive at 2pm. 4.30pm departure of the procession and relative closure of the route concerned. At 7pm the procession arrives and the roads involved in the event are gradually reopened to traffic. At 8pm the event ends and the road axes are completely reopened.
THE COLLABORATION BETWEEN ROMA PRIDE AND ROCK IN ROME CONTINUES
After the resounding success of last year, for the second time in a row the festival will host the Rock Me Pride (Art Pop Edition) event, the official party of Roma Pride, until late at night powered by Muccassassina, artistically directed by Diego Longobardi and scheduled immediately after the parade at the Capannelle Hippodrome. There will also be Annalisa, godmother of Roma Pride who will perform on the festival stage with her most famous hits.
Among the guests also BigMama, fresh from the success of Sanremo and much loved by the LGBT community and Sarah, fresh winner of the recently concluded edition of Amici, who with the hit Sexy magic is dominating all the charts. The evening will be presented by comedian Brenda Lodigiani.
The pop icons will be celebrated by a super cast, top Italian queens and super DJs. DJ Anto, Roberta Orzalesi, Valerio Lazzari, La Diamond, Farida Kant, Melissa Bianchini, Le Riche, La Sheeva, Raven Idoll, Aura Eternal, Skandalorsa, Jaguaro and directly from Brazil the super DJ Anne Louise, the missionary of fun.
