Eurovision 2024, excluding singer Joost Klein from the Netherlands

The artist will not participate in tonight's final because he is accused of "inappropriate behavior" towards a woman from the production

ROME – The Dutch artist Joost Klein will not participate in the final of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. The EBU announced this through an official press release, explaining that this evening there will be 25 artists competing. “Swedish police are investigating a complaint made by a female member of the production crew after an incident that occurred following Klein’s performance in Thursday night’s semi-final. While investigations are ongoing, it is not appropriate for him to participate in the race.” The note also states that no other artists or staff members were involved.

“We maintain a zero tolerance policy towards inappropriate behavior at our event and are committed to providing a safe and secure working environment for all staff. In light of this, Joost Klein’s behavior towards a member of the team is considered to be against the rules of the Contest. The final of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest will now proceed with 25 participating songs”.
