ROME – After the first two screenings RAI opinion on the European Elections (18% sample coverage). Fdi in the lead with 28.5%. Followed by Pd 23.7%; M5s 10.5%; Forza Italia-Nm 10%; League 8.3%; Avs 6.7%; Sue 4%; Share 3.4%.
The first projections of the European votedo not smile on the League, which would be overtaken by Forza Italia. In via Bellerio in Milan still no comment from Matteo Salvini, who arrived at the party headquarters around 11pm and is locked in an office on the first floor with the leaders federal. As regards turnout, with almost 50,000 sections scrutinized out of just over 61,000 in Italy, the percentage of voters was 49.7%, compared to 56% in the last round in 2019.
“We are not a museum party.” Antonio Tajani smiles. At the headquarters of Forza Italia, the party secretary, one year after the death of Silvio Berlusconi, looks with satisfaction at the progress made in these twelve months. “The direction is the right one,” he tells the faithful gathered in the office. There are Licia Ronzulli, Paolo Barelli, Francesco Battistoni, Paolo Emilio Russo, Alessandro Battilocchio, Maurizio Gasparri. For now, no official declaration, but the atmosphere is that of those who feel they have brought home a great result. The reasoning of the deputy prime minister, happy with the party’s performance, is leaked. The projections say Fi at 10.5 and the League at 8. Only one partial, which however indicates a profound distance between the two parties. Bossi’s choice, the sparks of the last few days between Tajani and Salvini: Forza Italia chose the center and, in terms of votes, it seems to have been right.
“Ours is an extraordinary result. We want to strengthen policies to protect future generations, many young people want peace and are asking for very clear words on the climate crisis. The time has come for the opposition forces to build a front democratic”. Avs co-spokesperson Angelo Bonelli says this on Porta a Porta, commenting on the first projections of the European elections which see the party at around 6.6%.
