ROME – The conservatives of the CDU/CSU alliance are the first force and followed by the right-wing Alternative für Deutschland (Afd) ahead of the social democrats of the SPD, only third: these are the indications that emerged from the exit polls afterwards the polls close in Germany for the European elections at 6pm.
According to these estimates, released by the German media, the CDU/CSU is at 29.5-30 percent. Afd would have 16-16.5 percent, about five points more than in the 2019 European elections, also ahead of the SPD, now at 14, down compared to five years ago. Fewer votes also for the Greens, who from 20 percent of the consultations in 2019 ago would drop to 12-12.5 percent.
