European elections, Bonaccini: “Renzi aims for a quorum, Meloni wants a referendum on herself”

The "Government is unable to fulfill its promises", so Giorgia Meloni is running "to have a referendum on itself". Bonaccini talks about European elections and of Vannacci he says: "Extreme right, shameful ideas"

BOLOGNA – Matteo Renzi and Carlo Calenda are running for the European elections “to try to exceed the quorum”. Elly Schlein “to lend a hand to the Democratic Party” in obtaining votes. And Giorgia Meloni does it “to seek a referendum on herself”, given that around her “she has a government that is unable to fulfill its promises”. This was said by Stefano Bonaccini, outgoing president of the Emilia-Romagna Region and leader of the Democratic Party in the North-East constituency in the next European elections, this morning guest of the program ‘L’Aria che tira’ on La7. The last to formalize his candidacy for the European elections was Renzi, on the United States of Europe list.

The leaders are running because it is clear that their presence can bring and add votes to their parties – comments Bonaccini – there are those who do it like Renzi and Calenda to overcome the quorum, those like Schlein to help the Democratic Party get as many votes as possible and those like Giorgia Meloni do it to seek a referendum on itself, having around them a Government that is unable to fulfill the promises made and also given the unfavorable economic trend Because in three years we will again be the worst in Europe for economic growth, industrial policies are completely lacking.”

“VANNACCI IS THE EXTREME RIGHT THAT WANTS TO DESTROY THE EU”&lt ; /strong>

General Roberto Vannacci “representsan extreme right, radical and sovereignist ideathat for the first time could go on to govern Europe, after having worked for decades to destroy it. This is why I am these elections are so important”, says Bonaccini, outgoing president of the Emilia-Romagna Region and Pd leader in the North-East constituency, where the same soldier is on the field for the League. “Vannacci defined Mussolini as a statesman, who was at the helm of a murderous regime – attacks Bonaccini – it is something that should make one feel ashamed. I say this after celebrating April 25th: I see that they are unable to say the word anti-fascist, which instead should unite us all”.
Vannacci, Bonaccini insists, “has an idea of the world in which the color of the skin, the religion one professes, the country of origin and even disability are to be divided and separated. This is abhorrent to me instead want to bring the best values of democracy, peace and social justice to Europe.” The PD president adds: “We want to change Europe, not destroy it. I wasn’t wearing the ‘No Euro’ sweatshirt.”
