European Athletics Championships: Sara Fantini is gold in the hammer throw, Filippo Tortu silver in the 200 meters

ROME – Sara Fantini won the gold medal in the hammer throw final at the European Athletics Championships underway in Rome. The hammer player from Fidenza, born in 1997, thus became European champion. The measurement that won her the gold was 74.18 achieved on the fourth attempt.

In second place on the podium with the orange medal went the Polish three-time Olympic champion and world record holder Anita Wlodarczyk (72.92) and, finally, in third place with the bronze medal the French Rose Loga (72.68).

Last night another victory for Italy. Filippo Tortu won the silver medal in the 200 meters and did so with a time of 20”41. The gold went to the Swiss Timothé Mumenthaler and the bronze to the other Swiss William Reais.
