THE VIRAL VIDEO OF RIVA SAYING HELLO TO THE GERMAN

In just a few minutes it went viral: Pietro Riva greeted the German rider after overtaking him in the final straight. A ‘bye bye’ that divided social media: there were those who saw it as a playful gesture not to be repeated and those who laughed at it. “My gesture? It was to say that I was going, I didn’t want to mock anyone, neither him nor the German athletes. I admire him very much, I will offer him pizza or five kilos of Nutella”, says Riva who was cautioned for ‘unsportsmanlike’ with a yellow card.
