Euro2024, Italy takes to the field: here’s when they play

The list of 26 players called up by coach Luciano Spalletti has been made official, the group will meet again tomorrow in Coverciano

ROME – Officialised the list of 26 players called up by Italy coach Luciano Spalletti, with the exclusion of Samuele Ricci, Riccardo Orsolini and Ivan Provedel, the group that will take part in the European Championships in Germany will meet again tomorrow in Coverciano. The program includes the official photo session for the European Championship (Saturday 8th), the second friendly on Sunday 9th in Empoli (first time for the Azzurri at the ‘Castellani’) with Bosnia Herzegovina, then the last training session at the Federal Technical Center and the departure for Germany again on Monday 10th. In the evening, arrival in Iserlohn, the town in the Rhineland which will host Italy’s team base camp during the European Championship. The Azzurri will stay at the Hotel VierJahreszeiten .

The following day, Tuesday 11th, first training session at the local sports field, with a huge crowd to welcome the Azzurri: around 4,500 tickets were distributed to the citizens. This will be the only training session open to the public, while from 12 June entry will be reserved for media accredited to the European Championship. This will be followed by the inauguration of ‘Casa Azzurri’, the meeting point for fans, media and partners, set up in a large area close to the ‘Matthias Grothe Halle’. There will be a representative of the national team at the ribbon cutting.

THE CALENDAR OF THE AZURRI

The program of the European Championship matches, all at 9pm Italian time, therefore includesthe debut of the Azzurri against Albania on Saturday 15 June in Dortmund. The second match will be played on 20 June against Spain in Gelsenkirchen. The closing of group B will be against Croatia, on June 24th in Leipzig. Daily training sessions and press conferences will be scheduled for the entire tournament, excluding match days.
