Erdogan against Eurovision: “It promotes gender neutrality”

“In such events, it has become impossible to meet a normal person,” the Turkish president said

ROME – “It promotes gender neutrality and undermines traditional family values“. For these reasons, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan criticized the Eurovision Song Contest. Statements, reported by the Guardian, on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting.

The leader defined the participants in the competition “Trojan horses of social corruption” expressing satisfaction with his government’s decision not to allow Turkey to participate in the competition since 2012. “In such events, it has become impossible to meet a normal person,” Erdoğan said

The criticisms from the Turkish president come a few days after the victory of Nemo, the first non-binary artist in the Eurovision song contest.
