ROME – “It is with great enthusiasm that we experience the very recent publication in the OJEU of the new eIDAS Regulation: the regulation was the result of long and in-depth examinations at European level, and its formalization represents a important step forward for the future of digital identity and the preservation of electronic documents”. Alessandro Selam, director of ANORC, the national association of operators and managers of digital content custody, expressed satisfaction. The new regulation touches on important topics such as the electronic attestation of attributes, the website authentication certificate, the management of qualified devices for the creation of an electronic signature (or an electronic seal) remotely, electronic archiving and electronic registers .
“Among the most important innovations of eIDAS 2 – explains Selam – there is the so-calledEUDI Wallet, our ‘digital wallet’ for personal documents, and e-Archiving, corresponding to the concept of digital storage of data and documents – for those who decide to use it (as it is an absolutely optional tool) – it will be used for example to read and verify electronic documents, to allow secure peer-to-peer transactions from the point of view. from the point of view of personal data protection and IT security, guaranteeing us full control of our information; eArchiving, combined with the much safer qualified electronic archiving service, will instead be fundamental for the reliable preservation of digital data and documents over time”.
“Digital identity and digital memory – continues Selam – are in fact issues of primary importance for all of us, fundamental to preserving the history, culture and digital heritage of our societies. For this reason as ANORC we monitor these issues from almost twenty years through information, training and lobbying activities, protecting the interests of professionals and companies. Among the activities carried out recently we can mention our latest webinar broadcast in March and reserved for members, in which engineer Andrea Caccia, representative of ANORC at the Cen (European Committee for Standardization), presented a preview of the scenarios that are opening up at community level on the topic of e-archiving, following the approval of eIDAS 2″.< br>
The eIDAS 2 regulation will also be the protagonist on 23 and 24 May at the ‘Meddle’, the exclusive ANORC training campus which will be held in Milan, at Cascina Cuccagna. “The ‘Meddle’ is the result of a totally innovative approach to training, a precious opportunity for study, discussion and networking with the top experts in the sector. Designed for professionals who deal with data conservation and protection – concludes Selam – the ‘Meddle’ is suitable for all those who want to learn hands-on in a stimulating and unconventional environment.” Last places available: you have until May 15th to register.
