REGGIO CALABRIA – Following the earthquake detected at 7.35 pm yesterday, Friday 24 May, of magnitude 4, with its epicenter near Cirò (Crotone), the operations room of the Civil Protection of the Calabria Region and the provincial office of Crotone immediately took steps to carry out a reconnaissance with the Municipalities located within 20 km of the epicentre. The shock was clearly felt by the population, obviously causing concern, but there were no reports of damage to people or things.

Furthermore, following the blockade of traffic on the Ionian railway line to allow for appropriate checks, RFI requested the support of the regional Civil Protection which, through the specifically activated voluntary associations, >provided assistance to passengers on stopped trains awaiting checks, who were provided with comfort items until they restarted on the buses made available by Trenitalia. The monitoring activity of the Civil Protection continued throughout the night and even in these hours the structures in the area are alerted and ready to intervene. Thus in a note from the Civil Protection of the Calabria Region.
