ROME – “You have 19 nominations, you’ll get at least one David. Paola prepare your speech, it’s not like you get there and say ‘I didn’t expect it’. Syou like that who buys twenty cards at the Christmas bingo, both are sure of it.” The comedian Teresa Mannino makes fun of the director and actress Paola Cortellesi at the presentation of the candidates for the David di Donatello 2024 Awards today at the Quirinale Palace, in the presence of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella. His ‘There’s Still Tomorrow’, the film with which he made his directorial debut, received 19 nominations, marking a record for a debut.
“They have added categories for you Paola, do you know? Best runner, Best red pizza/white pizza, Best generator. Knowing her – says Mannino addressing the Roman actress – she will feel a little guilty and will want to give some to charity, but it’s not possible.” And he concludes: “Thank you from everyone.”
