“He was constantly trying to impress me with his anecdotes. I thought he was exaggerating, until the day he came to pick me up from school… All the parents of my classmates started screaming, crying, to grab him. I thought ‘what the hell is happening?’ Going on holiday with him was unthinkable, he couldn’t feel at peace anywhere

“Even though I didn’t tell him, I was always very proud of him. He made a lot of mistakes but he was a really good person. His dream would have been to stay on the field until his death. The last World Cup is a posthumous gift for him. Nothing gave him more happiness than the ball, except perhaps his nephew (Benjamin, son of Gianinna and Sergio Agüero). He always protected those he loved. The person who hurt the most, deep down, was himself.”
