Conte will no longer give 300 thousand euros to Grillo: the announcement in Vespa’s new book

Conte dumps Grillo and does not renew his 300,000 euro contract linked to communications: in Vespa's new book coming out on October 30, he explains that "something has cracked irreversibly" between them

ROME – “Beppe Grillo is responsible for a counter-communication that undermines the reasons for a contractual collaboration”. This is how Giuseppe Conte announces his decision to not renew the 300 thousand euro compensation to the founder of the 5 Star Movement. He does so in Bruno Vespa’s new book: ‘Hitler and Mussolini – The fatal idyll that shocked the world (and Italy’s central role in the new Europe)’ to be released on October 30 by Mondadori – Rai Libri.

Grillo claimed the compensation as a guarantor even in the last letters he wrote to me – says Conte in Vespa’s book -. I have never accepted that he was paid for this function, which has an intrinsic moral value and is not compatible with any remuneration”. After clarifying that “a compromise was reached by rewarding his well-known communication skills to strengthen the image of the movement”, Conte tells Vespa that “in the face of a constituent process that involved the entire movement, Grillo is carrying out acts of sabotage, compromising the objective of releasing new energies”.

Something has cracked irreversibly“. This is how Giuseppe Conte responds to Bruno Vespa’s question about whether the relationship with Beppe Grillo has ended definitively. The interview is in Bruno Vespa’s new book: “Hitler and Mussolini – The fatal idyll that shocked the world (and Italy’s central role in the new Europe)” to be released on October 30 by Mondadori – Rai Libri.
“On a human level, I am very impressed by how he behaves. In the past – Conte tells Vespa – he has had poisonous attitudes towards me, which I did not give weight to because the interests of the community prevailed over everything. Seeing today that he is so blatantly contrasting a process of democratic participation that brings us back to Casaleggio’s original ideals has saddened me greatly. Because, contrary to what the newspapers write, the clash is not personalistic (Grillo against Conte), but sees Grillo fighting against his own community”.
