Conte is not hiding: “The European vote is negative, we will start an internal discussion”

ROME – Long faces at the M5s committee in via di Campo Marzio and little desire to comment on a result which, if confirmed, would be the worst since the Movement appeared to major electoral events (political and European). In fact, the latest projections give the party founded by Beppe Grillo around 10%.

THE COMPARISON WITH THE PAST

More than 5 points away from the latest elections, 7 points away from the 2109 European elections and even 11 points away from those of 2014, made famous by the ‘maalox’ invoked by Grillo himself. A negative record which however keeps the Movement on the podium, followed closely by Forza Italia and Lega. The only one to speak is the leader Giuseppe Conte. Arrived at the office around 2 in the morning, 3 minutes of statements to comment on the “negative result” and off we went. Silence also from the other exponents who never left the area inaccessible to the press, a sign of evident and understandable bitterness.
