RICCONE- If it is true that the choreographies, costumes, music and lights of the Cocoricò in Riccione have enchanted many clubbers over the years and that the disco has always been considered an avant-garde place, then hosting a contemporary art museum is not an oddity. It is called Mudi, an acronym for museum-disco, it is the first example of its kind in Italy, and officially opens onMay 19from 6pm to midnight with a party-event that brings together music and art and which is forbidden to minors. The idea, Cocoricò explains, is “to make the works live in a context different from the usual and to offer the public a further experiential element: a open museum that wants to undermine the more traditional meaning linked to this concept and present itself as a new form of cultural entertainment, in dialogue with the fun that a disco can offer”. Curator Mike Pagliarulo’s choice deliberately fell on 29 Italian artists who will also present interactive installations, immersive shows and performing art. Some works will be available for sale and the proceeds “will be reinvested to commission new ones, guaranteeing a continuous renewal of the artistic offer”, adds Cocoricò. The inauguration day will be dedicated to the theme of “real, visual, sensorial” pleasure, around which the performances and activities will revolve. Entrance is free (but only for adults, registration required on cocoricò.it). The evening, concludes the nightclub, “promises an explosive mix of music and art with performances that challenge conventions”.
