Chico Forti on Tg1: “I dreamed of this moment every day. For the first time without handcuffs, I’m innocent”

Chico Forti's first words after returning to Italy: "For the first time I don't have handcuffs, the atmosphere in prison is different", he says interviewed by Tg1 in Rebibbia prison

ROME – “I dreamed of this moment every day. It’s the reason why I managed to hold on.
Returning to Italy, even here, for me is a step positive“. Chico Forti said this, interviewed by Tg1 in Rebibbia prison.

“For the first time I don’t have a freshman on me and I don’t have handcuffs, it’s a different atmosphere in prison. Everything is different, the director, the guards welcomed me, everything”, says the 65-year-old who returned to Italy today. Then he reiterates his innocence: “The only reason why I accepted extradition now is that at the beginning I had to declare myself guilty, and I would never have done so. I declare myself innocent. I am positive, I am convinced that the future will be as I hope”.

Finally he confesses: “If I have remained like this it is because of my mother, I hope to hug her soon. I thank many people, Giorgia Meloni was fantastic, the whole government helped me”.
