Chico Forti: “I want to hug my mother”. He will go to Rebibbia and then to Verona

Now a new life begins, a new life for Chico Forti, who returned to Italy after 24 years in prison in Florida. "He can't wait to hug his mother again," says Fratelli d'Italia parliamentarian Andrea Di Giuseppe

ROME – “I have often visited Chico in the last year and, since the news of his transfer was given, we spoke often: a few days ago he told me that a new life is starting for him and that he can’t wait to hug his mother again“. Speaking is Andrea Di Giuseppe, the only Fratelli d’Italia parliamentarian elected abroad, who has followed the Forti case since February 2023, favoring the transfer to Italy of the our compatriot detained in the United States for 25 years. It has not been easy to remain silent but today we can finally give this news; I thank the state of Florida and the American government for their collaboration, the Tacopina firm for their legal work and the Bocelli family, who have always been at Chico’s side, for their human support. Obviously, Forti’s is not a release from prison but a transfer to Italy where, according to our laws, he will finish serving his sentence”. Chico Forti, who is serving a life sentence for the murder of Dale Pike (which occurred on 15 February 1998), he will be transferred to the Rebibbia prison and then to Verona. Today he returned to Italy, landing in Pratica di Mare, where Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was also there waiting for him. Chico Forti is 65 years old.
