ROME – Chiara Ferragni would have given up the appeal against the Antitrust for the Balocco pandoro case. The digital entrepreneur and her lawyers, in fact, would have decided to pay the one million euro fine imposed on the companies linked to her. This was revealed by Il Messaggero. The first hearing on the merits at the Administrative Court was set for 17 July. The waiver of appeal would be sent today.
The fine arrived immediately after the scandal broke. Over 1 million euros for the companies attributable to Chiara Ferragni and 420 thousand euros for Balocco. These are the sanctions issued in reference to the designer pandoro launched in 2022. The Competition and Market Authority specifically challenged the companies Fenice S.r.l. and TBS Crew S.r.l., which manage the trademarks and rights relating to the personality and personal identity of Chiara Ferragni, and to Balocco S.p.A of having implemented an unfair commercial practice. Shortly after, the 37-year-old asked to cancel the measure, without receiving a response.
“Chiara’s backtracking – writes Il Messaggero – is part of an informal agreement with the Antitrust which will thank her for the other open case, that of the Easter eggs. In April the Agcom has opened a new investigation against the influencer and the Dolci Preziosi company for the sale of Easter eggs with ‘a hypothesis similar to that of the Balocco pandoro case’. According to what sources close to the influencer tell the Messaggero,. there will be no sanctions. The procedure will end with the assumption of commitments by Ferragni’s companies”.
