Known to the small screen audience, for successful programs such as “Unti e bisunti” and “Truck drivers in the restaurant“, Chef Rubio, in recent years has become a “human rights activist and supporter of the Palestinian cause“. Probably, precisely this strongly aligned position was the motive for the beating. But if in Italy, the ‘chef Rubio case’, it has passed almost silently, except in some rare cases of solidarity, Rubbini’s aggression was reported abroad on the news and by press agencies complete with interviews with the chef. This is a symptom, probably, beyond national borders , talking about Israel and Palestine is much less ‘uncomfortable’ than talking about it in Italy. Rubio first denounced the Italian media’s lack of interest in his story on Twitter: “Singular as after 4 days of the disfigurement (Zionist Jews brand their victims) and attempted murder, no one in the media is outraged by the fact that there are terrorist groups, linked to the Zionist colony and supported by the Jewish communities, free to harm”.

Chef Rubio’s attack was covered by Al Jazeera, the main Arabic-language broadcaster, followed throughout the world.
