ROME – The transport strike in Rome, proclaimed from 8.30 to 16.30 for workplace safety after the death of an Atac employee, it created great inconvenience for citizens. The effect from the start was in fact total: all the metros closed and also the Termini-Centocelle railway, in addition to the suspension or strong reduction of bus and tram runs. A chaos.

Citizens enraged and in total despair, impossible to get on the few very full vehicles or to be able to get into a taxi, which has become a fight between desperate people. From the San Giovanni area at a certain point a river of people set out on foot along the street to reach their workplace in the centre, finding no alternatives.

Almost everyone reported that they knew nothing about the strike and that they were caught by surprise when they left home to go and catch public transport. Then the rush to find a bus with stops packed with people waiting, among other things under the scorching sun at the Basilica of San Giovanni.The tourists were clearly disoriented. They too, in groups, then set off on foot towards the center of Rome.
