ROME – After months of absence, rumors and statements from family members, Celine Dion reappears on the small screen and for the first time talks about the stiff person syndrome which has afflicted her for years. Ben 17 revealed, despite the star only revealing to the world that he has this disease in 2022.

“Lying to fans had become too much of a burden to bear,” he explained in his first interview since announcing his illness. The singer, in fact, confessed to the microphones of NBC News. “I didn’t know what was happening, I should have taken the time to understand,” she added of those years. Yet, Celine Dion has graced stages all over the world as long as she could: “I had to raise my children, I had to hide, I had to continue to look like a heroine, I had to feel my body abandoning me, clinging to my dreams Lying was too much“, he explained.

Thus, the world tour that would have seen her travel between one city and another between 2023 and 2024 was cancelled, much to the star’s regret: “I’m sorry to disappoint you once again – she declared – I’m working just to get back strong, but go on tour even when you’re at 100%.”

Stiff person syndrome is a neurological disorder that “affects one person in a million” and which – in addition to progressive stiffening resulting in difficulty in movement – causes strong spasms.

In the interview with NbsNews, in fact, Celine Dion talks about the difficulties faced: “At a certain point I broke some ribs because sometimes when it’s very serious. It’s as if someone was strangling you< /strong>, as if someone is pushing your larynx. It can also occur in the abdominal area, in the spine, in the ribs >”.

Precisely for this reason, Dion explained: “All this causes me difficulty when I walk and does not allow me to use my vocal cords to sing as I am used to”.

Celine Dion will return to tell her story in the documentary “I am: Celine Dion”, arriving on Prime Video on June 25th. The project’s soundtrack will be released on June 21st: a disc of 20 songs including hits such as “The Power of Love”, “My Heart Will Go On” and the most recent “Love Again” and 7 tracks composed by cellist Redi Hasa and produced by Alberto Fabris.
