NAPLES – An earthquake of magnitude 3.7 occurred in the Campi Flegrei area at 1.25pm today. The earthquake, also felt by the population of Naples as well as by the municipalities of the Phlegraean area, was located at a depth of 3 kilometers.
A second earthquake, of magnitude 3.6, was located at a depth of 4 kilometers , was recorded in the same area at 1.26pm.
From initial checks no damage has been reported due to the seismic swarm underway since 12.31 in the Campi Flegrei area, announced by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology.
In following the event, the Italian Situation room of the Civil Protection Department got in touch with the local structures of the national civil protection service.
