NAPLES – The bradyseism emergency in the Campi Flegrei “is the only issue on which I believe, even making an effort of self-control, that we must implement all forms of collaboration and solidarity among all the institutions. This is the only field in which solidarity and unity are needed from everyone. In the face of the earthquake, of bradyseism, there are no differentiations: we must all work together and I hope we are all committed to making time, to don’t waste a minute. We have to be prepared for anything.” The president of the Campania Region Vincenzo De Luca explains this when speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a press conference at Palazzo Santa Lucia. De Luca makes an appeal for institutional unity also in view of the inter-ministerial table scheduled today at Palazzo Chigi. “I hope – he highlights – that at least in the face of these emergencies the sense of responsibility prevails and I hope that we decide not to waste another minute of time because we have to work with extremely urgent tasks. We must be ready for anything”.
For the Campania governor Vincenzo De Luca it would be “reasonable” to introduce the Sismabonus also for the Campi Flegrei. “This is one of the many reasons for differentiation between North and South which are frankly incomprehensible and I say intolerable”. “We raised this problem – recalls De Luca – during the flood in Ischia and today we have a problem in the Campi Flegrei area. The request coming from the mayors seems reasonable to me: if we need to do the including static consolidation interventions on civilian homes, as well as on public structures, I think it is necessary to lend a hand. In this case I don’t think there is a push for real estate speculation: there is an objective need that I believe should be met.” .
In the Campi Flegrei area “it is clear that there is a concern, a climate of tension in families, this becomes inevitable. But I believe that today we must concentrate on two or three objectives The first is to guarantee healthcare facilities, and we have not recorded any particular problems either at the hospital in Pozzuoli or at the San Paolo in Naples”, explained De Luca. The governor underlines how there are “two other chapters which require maximum attention. The opening of reception centers in the event of evacuation of citizens, and here we must create truly high-level structures because we are not yet fully adequate. And then we must guarantee escape routes. The appeal that I make to the municipalities concerned is to focus their attention on these two objectives: reception centers and escape routes” . On the second point De Luca explains: “We must ensure that there are no construction sites blocking the route. We don’t have dramatic situations, but we need a little more attention, and we will update again in the next few days”.
“We will have to pay attention to the port of Pozzuoli because the phenomena of recent months have also caused a problem of rise in the port area. One of the interventions that we should do urgently, and let’s see if the The Council of Ministers decides something, it concerns the dredging of the port of Pozzuoli. In any case, even from this point of view, the rapid approval of the development and cohesion plan gives us resources and tools”. The governor speaks of a “strategic intervention”. “We must guarantee the full usability of the port of Pozzuoli – he underlines – because the mainland, which no matter how much effort we want to make, remains extremely congested and anthropized. Reaching that area by sea is an important asset that we cannot deprive ourselves of and the port of Pozzuoli is from a logistical point of view and also from a safety point of view, an essential structure to be kept in full functionality”. strong>, otherwise we will also have problems for the transport of passengers”.
The president of the Campania Region Vincenzo De Luca states: “I expect the development and cohesion plan to be unblocked because in that context we had allocated a hundred million euros to build new roads also in the Campi Flegrei”. The governor explains that there is a need to “create new things”, in particular in relation to escape routes, ” working above all on the intermediate area between Pozzuoli and Bagnoli where we have to put something in place new and urgent”.
