Calenda and her son’s electoral card: “No 18-year-old got it home”

The leader of Action wastes no time and denounces the little appeal that the next European elections have on young people: "So much to encourage abstentionism"

ROME – “My son Giulio with his first voter card. I would like to point out that no eighteen-year-old I know has received it at home. Just to encourage abstentionism”. On XCarlo Calenda talks about the election eve, Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 June, with a shot of his son. A selfie taken by the same boy with his electoral card in plain sight, a document which – according to Calenda’s father – would not have been sent to the residential addresses of many new voters.

The leader of Action, thus, wastes no time and denounces the little appeal that the next European elections have on very young people. In short, the kids don’t seem enthusiastic about going to the polls and there’s no one who can fascinate them.

The risk is that we remain 25th out of 27 countries in terms of influence as we are today. That is, we count for nothing
