ROME – Israeli attacks in Rafah do not stop: in the last few hours, according to reports from Al Jazeera, a structure in the al-Hashashin area was hit, “an area teeming with tents and displaced people”. And the partial toll is seven dead and six injured. The attack follows the one in the western area which caused 45 deaths and hundreds of injuries among the makeshift shelters hosting displaced Palestinians.

UN SECURITY COUNCIL EMERGENCY MEETING

The international community reacts by condemning the massacre: at the request of Algeria,the United Nations Security Council has called an emergency meeting behind closed doors for today after the Israeli attack on Rafah which It caused the death of dozens of civilians and the wounding of hundreds. The UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres condemned the attack which “killed dozens of innocent civilians who were only seeking refuge from this deadly conflict”. “There is no safe place in Gaza. This horror must end,” he added on X.

USA: “DEVASTATING IMAGES”

“The devastating images of the raid by Israeli forces in Rafah last night that killed dozens of innocent Palestinians are heartbreaking.” This is what a spokesperson for the National Security Council at the White House declared, stating that “Israel has the right to attack Hamas, and we know that in the raid two important terrorists were killed who are responsible for attacks against Israeli  civilians.” “But as clearly stated, Israel must take all possible precautions to protect civilians,” continues the statement, reported byCNN.

For Italy, Defense Minister Guido Crosetto condemns the attacks on Rafah: “I have the impression that Israel is sowing hatred that will involve their children and grandchildren, and I would have preferred a different choice”, reports an interview with Skytg24. “Hamas is one thing – adds the minister – the Palestinian people are another. They had to discern between the two things and make a more courageous choice from a democratic point of view”.
