ROME – A new disturbed impulse, of Atlantic origin, rapidly approaching the northern regions of our country, will bring further conditions of instability, between today’s evening and tomorrow’s day, with predominantly thunderstorm precipitation, locally also of strong intensity, especially in Lombardy and Triveneto.
On the basis of the available forecasts, the civil protection department in agreement with the regions involved – which is responsible for the activation of the civil protection systems in the affected territories – has issued a further warning of adverse weather conditions, which integrates and extends the one issued yesterday. The weather phenomena, impacting on the different areas of the country, could determine hydrogeological and hydraulic criticalities which are reported, in a national summary, in the national criticality and alert bulletin which can be consulted on the department’s website (www.protezionecivile.gov.it).
The warning predicts scattered to widespread precipitation, mainly showers or thunderstorms, from the afternoon of today, Sunday 9 June, on Veneto and the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano, in addition to the persistence of these phenomena in Lombardy. The events will be accompanied by heavy showers, frequent lightning strikes, local hailstorms and strong gusts of wind.
On the basis of the expected and ongoing phenomena, it has been assessed for tomorrow, Monday 10 June, orange alert for risk of thunderstorms in part of Lombardy, yellow alert, Trentino-Alto Adige and Veneto, in part of Lombardy and Tuscany.
