Silver medal for Sibilio in 47''50, four hundredths less than Fabrizio Mori's Italian record in 2001

ROME – In the 400 hurdles the Italian Alessandro Sibilio won the silver medal at the European Athletics Championships in Rome. Time of 47”50, new Italian record.
Sibilio finished behind only Karsten Warholm, but ahead of an Italian legend of the specialty. It’s a perfect final that of the 25-year-old Neapolitan, starting in lane seven, immediately behind the Norwegian world record holder: ‘Ale’ does not fall into the temptation to force the pace at the start following Warholm and in the final straight, the usual ‘Sibilio zone’< /strong>, even manages to go back a couple of meters to the Olympian. Bronze for Carl Bengstrom with the Swedish record of 47”94 while 48.13 was not enough for the Estonian Rasmus Magi to get on the podium.
