ROME – Who knows if the Jesus dress complete with cross was his idea or that of his friends, but so much so that the future groom doesn’t want his stag party will easily forget. And not because it was his last day as a bachelor, but because the joke, complete with white tunic and fake Stations of the Cross, was considered ‘blasphemous’ by the local police who also fined him 200 euros. The news was reported by Il Gazzettino.
The backdrop to the comical scene is Piazza Marina in Jesolo and under the eyes of the tourists the agents intervened (apparently following a report) on Saturday evening and also seized the cross from the fake Jesus, a boy from Treviso from Zenson di Piave. The new regulation provides, in fact, that fines can be imposed for behavior in public contrary to public decorum, to good taste and to religious cults.
