Anzola murder, the person responsible was arrested during the night

For Giampiero Gualandi the accusation is of voluntary murder of his former colleague Sofia Stefani

BOLOGNA – During the night the Bologna Carabinieri, coordinated by prosecutor Stefano Dambruoso, arrested Giampiero Gualandi, a 63-year-old serving in the local police of Anzola dell’Emilia, for voluntary homicide, for l murder of 33-year-old former colleague Sofia Stefani. The woman was killed yesterday afternoon in the Anzola police headquarters with a gunshot to the head, fired from Gualandi’s service weapon. In the interrogation to which he was subjected late yesterday evening, as far as we know, Gualandi made use of the right not to answer, and the prosecutor decided to order the arrest of a crime suspect in the against the 63-year-old, who is now in prison.

MURDER ANZOLA, MAYOR WILL PROCLAIM CITIZEN MOURNING

The mayor of Anzola dell’Emilia, Giampiero Veronesi, intends to proclaim citizen mourning. In a post on Facebook the mayor writes that “time and the investigators will determine who and why fired that shot”, stating that “at this stage this should not concern us, much less should we activate unhealthy mechanisms of morbid curiosity” . On the contrary, he continues, “we must all first of all have the utmost respect for the people and families involved and devastated by this ugly affair and we must express our utmost closeness to Sofia’s family and all her loved ones”.
