“All brothers for integral ecology”, meeting at ‘Dire’ Friday 21 June

In the agency's editorial office in Rome, with the presentation of 13 good practices implemented in Africa, Asia and Latin America

ROME – Thirteen “good practices” under the sign of collaboration between peoples in Latin America, Africa and Asia will be at the center of a meeting entitled ‘All brothers for integral ecology’, organised by Focsiv< /strong> for Friday 21 June in the editorial office of the Dire agency. The event, in Corso d’Italia 38/A, in Rome, will begin at 3.30pm.

“SOCIAL AND ECOLOGICAL JUSTICE”

“Today the world needs peace based on justice between peoples, social and ecological justice” underlines Focsiv, acronym for Federation of organizations of international volunteering of Christian inspiration. “The social love of cooperation should guide the steps of all people of good will, of artisans of peace, of politicians in the service of the common good“. On this path, the Federation underlines, “Focsiv and its members renew their commitment by distilling, with the publication ‘All brothers for integral ecology’, some lessons learned to build justice and peace”.

TEN INGREDIENTS FOR COOPERATION

The document, the authors highlight, indicates “ten ingredients for cooperation between peoples based on the partnership to which politics should refer”. It will start at 3.30 pm, with greetings and introduction by Ivana Borsotto, president of Focsiv, and Nico Perrone, director of Dire. Following is a video and presentation of the publication with Alice Liani, from the Accri NGO, Father Michno, from Caritas Ecuador, and Don Jostrom Kureethadam, from Vatican Dicastery for Integral Human Development. Also scheduled are interventions by Francesco Corvaro, special envoy of the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security for climate change, by Don Bruno Bignami, director of the National Office of the Conference Italian Episcopal Conference (CEI) for social and labor problems, and Edmondo Cirielli, deputy minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The conclusions will be entrusted to Monsignor Luigi Bressan, archbishop emeritus of Trento, representative of the CEI in Focsiv. The meeting will be moderated by Vincenzo Giardina, coordinator of Dire’s international news programme.
It will also be possible to follow the presentation through the social channels of the agency and Focsiv. The project was also realized thanks to the contribution of Deutsche Post Stiflung and the Helping Sisters.
