The Post Office dedicates a stamp to Guido Rossa "against all terrorism"

ROME – A stamp for Guido Rossa, worker and trade unionist killed in January 1979 by the Red Brigades. Rossa was killed by gunshots in an ambush set by Red Brigade members: it was revenge for having reported, alone, Francesco Berardi, a Red Brigade member who had infiltrated the factory for having reported, inside the factory in which they both worked, the infiltrated Red Brigades member Francesco Berardi. The Post Office has decided to dedicate a stamp from the thematic series “il Senso civico” against all forms of terrorism to Guido Rossa. This year’s one is dedicated to him.

The cartoon on the stamp, explain the Post Office, depicts a portrait of Guido Rossa, a worker and trade unionist, constant in his commitment to defending democratic institutions and the highest ideals of freedom. He collaborated with justice in the fight against terrorism, paying with his own life.

THE TECHNICAL DETAILS

The stamp, relating to the value of tariff B equal to 1.25 euros, will have a circulation of 200,025 copies. Sheet: forty-five copies The stamp is printed by the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato S.p.A., in rotogravure, on white, neutral coated, self-adhesive, non-fluorescent paper. The stamp is completed by the legends “Against all forms of terrorism”, “Guido Rossa” and the dates “1934 – 1979”, the writing “iItalia” and the tariff indication “B”. The cancellation is on the first day of issue will be available at the philatelic counter of the Genoa 26 post office.
