ROME – a new model of good inclusive practice was born at the plant under concession to the ASL Roma 6 on the Riviera Mallozzi in Anzio. The recipe is simple: spend a day at the seasidewith your friend, relative or even simple acquaintance with disabilities in a structure prepared to welcome. “There are motivated staff – explains a note – a comfortable walkway for wheelchairs and other services. It also becomes easier to bathe because there are resources and expertise. This practice works very well on the Lazio coast where people with disabilities are welcomed free of charge, with kindness and professionalism”. The beach granted to the ASL Roma 6 is a space where disabled people and their families can feel safe, peaceful and protected as a first aid and rescue service is also provided. This good practice has attracted the attention of institutions at both regional and national levels.
On 11 July at 11am, for the inauguration, the following will be present: the governor of the Lazio Region Francesco Rocca, the president of the Lazio Regional Council Antonello Aurigemma, the regional councilor for Social Services Massimiliano Maselli, the regional budget councilor Giancarlo Righini. Also present was the senator of the Republic Marco Silvestroni, “always close to the territory, who immediately expressed appreciation for the initiative – we read again in the press release – And he also expressed his desire to participate in this important event on Minister of Health Orazio Schillaci together with the head of the Technical Secretariat Marco Mattei, the presence of the chief prosecutor of the Republic of Velletri Giancarlo Amato and several mayors of the territory was particularly appreciated”.
The initiative is the result of a collaboration between the ASL Roma 6, the Municipality of Anzio and the Alteya Cooperative which also deals with the management of the beach: “Taking care of people with disabilities – comments the extraordinary commissioner of the ASL Roma 6 Francesco Marchitelli– it can become therapeutic especially if you frequent the right places where people are welcomed with a smile, where you are together without barriers between sea, sun and friendship And then it will be easier to feel good and in the right place.” This good practice has particularly intrigued the governor of the Lazio Region Francesco Rocca, former president of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, very sensitive to the models of inclusion that can be multiplied across the territory. “And on Tuesday 11th he will want to see first-hand that recipe for success created by teamwork between institutions, public health and social partners” concludes the note from ASL Roma 6.
