ROME – 46 years have passed since the killing of Aldo Moro by the Red Brigades. The president of the Christian Democrats was kidnapped on 16 March 1978, a day that went down in history as ‘the Via Fani massacre’. On March 16, in fact, not only was the leader of the DC kidnapped, but the Red Brigades – a terrorist group operating in Italy in what went down in history as ‘the years of lead’ – killed his escort: Domenico Ricci, Francesco Zizzi , Raffaele Iozzino, Giulio Rivera and Oreste Leonardi.
