24-hour healthcare: XTE is the platform that measures parameters remotely and makes a diagnosis

Starace (ad Seven Holding): citizens will have a new perception of healthcare

ROME – Doctors and nurses working day and night to respond to health needs with online triage and indications on the best care path in real time. The new integrated and digital healthcare service is called XTE, the “first and only in Italy and Europe”, which offers personalized healthcare for the patient, active 24 hours a day, 7 days on 7. Continuous control thanks to a latest generation platform, which allows you to monitor, through a wearable device, individual physiological parameters constantly and make a medical diagnosis. The new system combines telemedicine and proximity medicine through an operational listening center, with doctors and nursing staff available to actively monitor patients, thus guaranteeing control, assistance and prevention at home or in local health facilities.

The new XTE operating model, entirely made in Italy, was presented at the ‘La Nuvola’ Congress Center in Rome, as part of the most important European event in the digital health sector, HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society), the world’s leading organization committed to reforming the global healthcare ecosystem through the power of information and technology, in which the Minister of Health, Orazio Schillaci, took part.

“The service model offered by validated by the Ministry of Health”. These technologies also passed the rigorous qualification exam for use on the International Space Station (ISS), integrated into the space suit (SFS2) produced by SpaceWare and worn by Colonel of the Air Force Walter Villadei during the AX-3 space mission. The device monitored the astronaut’s health parameters, detecting his conditions during the mission, which started on January 17th and lasted 19 days.

The innovative uniqueness of the project, highly appreciated by the Minister of Health Orazio Schillaci also for the technology completely made in Italy– explained Riccardo Starace, CEO of Seven Holding strong>, which controls eleven companies involved in the social and healthcare sector and producers of different care settings, listening center, telemedicine, televisits, home care and outpatient clinic services, revolutionizes the healthcare approach”.

Starace continues: “We still have a hospital-centric vision, for any health problem we are used to turning to healthcare facilities, family doctors or the emergency-urgency network, but the digitalisation of systems can help us in an assessment of the patient at home, reducing the burden on the hospital system and unnecessary visits of chronic patients to emergency rooms”.

The availability of a 24-hour operational listening center will, in fact, guarantee that the patient is taken care of in their own home through digital telemedicine systems and will allow the prevention and treatment path to be followed through the monitoring of health parameters, as well as possibility of booking annual check-ups or health packages in affiliated facilities in the area with the support of local pharmacies. “Our objective – added Starace – is to offer citizens a new perception of healthcare, easily accessible healthcare thanks to immediate and direct dialogue with our general practitioners and specialists, improving at the same time the conditions of the public health service which will consequently be less burdened. We are developing new technologies to further strengthen our services, also thanks to the activity of the Olidata group, which deals with research and development of the digitalisation of health data and algorithms. of artificial intelligence. Olidata is a partner and associate of Xte thanks to the intuition of its CEO Cristiano Rufini”.

In detail, the new digital platform consists of a health operations center, made up of doctors and nurses, who the citizen can contact to receive medical advice or a diagnosis and who will be able to direct him to the appropriate treatment path at home or in facilities hospitals or polyclinics located throughout the area. The Operations Center is already able to evaluate various physiological parameters (heart rate, saturation, temperature, pressure, heart rate variability, hydration, respiratory acts, falls), which are important for understanding the state of health. Many others are in the development and clinical validation phase and will be available on the same device as soon as medical certification is obtained. All measurements are performed automatically, without requiring the intervention of specialized personnel or the participation of the user, in a completely non-invasive manner. At the basis of XTE’s proposals is theResearch and Development activity carried out by Advanced Processing, an innovative Italian startup, coordinated by the researcher and physicist Raffaele Ciavarella: “The technology adopted by of international research started a few years ago – explained the researcher – transformed into an improving product for the benefit of prevention and the quality of care for each user; we have obtained all the necessary certifications and indisputable recognition of the validity of the model created”.
